Scripts License System
Activation
Follow these steps to access, install, and activate Motion Design School scripts that ship with a standalone license key.
Platform-Specific Licenses
We publish scripts on both Motion Design School and aescripts + aeplugins platforms. Licenses are independent for each platform, so you cannot use one license on the other platform. This page covers Motion Design School licenses only.
These tools use the same activation flow.
Step 1: Get Your Activation Key
After purchasing, get your activation key from your Motion Design School account.
Open My ToolsLog into your account at motiondesign.school.
Go to My Library → "My Tools"

Find your purchased script in My Tools and open its menu to view license details.
Copy the activation key shown next to the script.
Keep your license key secure and do not share it with others.

Step 2: Install the Script
These tools ship as JSX or JSXBIN files that need a manual install.
- 1. Download the archive from your user cabinet
- 2. Copy the script into the After Effects/Scripts/ScriptUI Panels/ folder
- 3. Restart After Effects to load the new panel
- 4. Open it from Window → [Script Name]
If you installed into the Scripts folder, move it into "ScriptUI Panels" so the interface appears as a dockable panel.

Step 3: Activate Your License
Activate with License Key
Enter the copied key exactly as shown in your account.
- 1. Launch the script from the Window menu
- 2. Click "Enter License" or "Activate"
- 3. Paste your license key
- 4. Confirm and wait for the success message
If the activation window has not appeared yet, relaunch the panel once after restarting After Effects to bring it up before you continue working.
On Windows, run After Effects as administrator for the first launch if the activation dialog doesn't appear.

Troubleshooting
Common Issues
- • Panel missing: confirm the file lives inside ScriptUI Panels
- • License rejected: check for extra spaces when pasting the key
- • Network error: allow After Effects through firewalls or VPNs
- • Compatibility: scripts require the Classic ExtendScript engine
Activation tips
- • Keep After Effects online for the first activation
- • Reopen the panel if you see a timeout or blank dialog
- • Deactivate old machines from your account if you hit the limit
- • Contact support for manual resets when hardware changes
